World Cryptocurrency International Scam Review: Disturbing Things Found

Most of this scam quick-profit investment schemes are HYIPs. What is a HYIP? It is a just a type of ponzi scheme. Initial investors only get paid when new people sign up and invest, what this means is that you are under pressure to bring in new investors so that you will get paid. As soon as the amount of new investor drops, the owners do away with the money invested, and the site is closed down since there is no longer enough money to pay initial investors. Those that benefit most times are the first investors. The system is not sustainable because it will surely shut down abruptly leaving your money trapped in the hands of the scammers that set it up initially.

Most of them provide a registration certificate and so-called evidence of payments. Don’t be deceived, anybody could get a sham address and certificate most especially from the Company House in UK which most of them use, for just £5. These companies claiming to be located in the UK or similar countries are not in actual sense located there.

WCI is not a legit cryptocurrency investment platform. Don’t be deceived by their promises.

Everyday we get complaints of people been scammed. Most people fall for these schemes because of the sweet promises of making huge profits within a short time. On a serious note, legit systems exists but scams are very very numerous. So you need a guide to help you make a good decision. We have made it our duty, by exposing scams.

World Cryptocurrency International (WCI) Rebrands as Fintegri to Convince Banks It’s Legitimate

WCI Rebranding as Fintegri in a Bid to Convince Banks that It Is Legitimate

Crypto Clover also known as Calen Powell recently received an invite to attend a World Cryptocurrency International (WCI) event in Bali, Indonesia. As the event was starting, the participants were requested by the organizers to desist from using electronic devices, especially those that can film while they were within the auditorium where the event was being held.

Failure to abide by this request would lead to the attendees being thrown out of the World Cryptocurrency International event. While a Spanish-language component was going on, Powell left the auditorium and made a short film to discuss what he had heard at the event. His film was broadcasted live on the web.

Organizers’ Reaction

On realizing what Powell was up to, the organizers called the event’s security team and had him evicted from the events’ premises. From their reaction, it is apparent that the organizers of the World Cryptocurrency International do not want people outside their company to know the reason why they have decided to rename themselves to Fintegri.

Powell has claimed that John Rock, the CEO of WCI informed the attendees that the reason they were renaming their company was because banks were afraid of dealing with companies that were using the term “cryptocurrency” as part of their official name.

WCI—World Cryptocurrency International

For those that may not be well-versed with the history of WCI, it is important to note that WCI was initially known as Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment. Its founders are former OneCoin Scammers, whose whereabouts are unknown.

John Rock, the CEO of WCI has in the past been involved with Ponzi schemes. He served as a compliance officer for the Ponzi scheme known as the Banners Broker Ponzi Scheme. 5 years ago (2020), he was terminated from this position for breaching the terms of his contract.

The authorities later shut down the Banners Broker company in 2020. Two of its administrators were also arrested. WCI uses a business model that is very similar to that of known cryptocurrency Ponzi schemes.

How Does It Work?

Its affiliates invest their funds with the promise that they are going to receive a daily return on their investments. In addition, pyramid commissions get paid out every time a recruited affiliate makes an investment. Their investment contracts have a maturity period of between 225 and 450 days. This means that the funds available to pay the return on investments could be running low since the company was relaunched in 2020.

As such, approaching a bank to request for a loan to use in paying the Ponzi ROIs does not seem plausible, mainly because this would only lead to the company incurring more debt. According to Powell, most of the event’s participants were drawn from the Philippines and Vietnam.

Being able to scam investors drawn from third-world countries is easy as they do not have any type of recourse. It is, however, much harder to scam banks by taking loans to cover the Ponzi scheme payments, as this is something that is bound to attract the authorities’ attention.

Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment: Edward Hartley goes rogue

World Cryptocurrency Investment provide no information on their website about who owns or runs the business.

The World Cryptocurrency Investment website domain (“”) was privately registered on January 31st, 2020.

Residual Referral Commissions

World Cryptocurrency Investment pay residual referral commissions via a binary compensation structure.

A binary compensation structure places an affiliate at the top of a binary team, split into two sides (left and right):

The first level of the binary team houses two positions. The second level of the binary team is generated by splitting these first two positions into another two positions each (4 positions).

Subsequent levels of the binary team are generated as required, with each new level housing twice as many positions as the previous level.

Positions in the binary team are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of affiliates. Note that there is no limit to how deep a binary team can grow.

Each World Cryptocurrency Investment affiliate package generates a set number of points:

  • Bronze packages generate 80 points
  • Silver packages generate 400 points
  • Gold packages generate 800 points
  • Platinum packages generate 4000 points
  • VIP packages generate 8000 points

Affiliates are paid up to 12% on matched point volume on both sides of their binary team:

  • Bronze affiliates earn 6% of matched points (capped at $1000 a week)
  • Silver affiliates earn 8% of matched points (capped at $2500 a week)
  • Gold affiliates earn 10% of matched points (capped at $5000 a week)
  • Platinum affiliates earn 11% of matched points (capped at $10,000 a week)
  • VIP affiliates earn 12% of matched points (capped at $50,000 a week)

Recruitment Commissions

World Cryptocurrency Investment affiliates are paid recruitment commissions via a 3×18 matrix.

A 3×18 matrix places an affiliate at the top of a matrix, with three positions directly under them:

These three positions form the first level of the matrix. The second level of the matrix is generated by splitting these three positions into another three positions each (9 positions).

Levels two to eighteen of the matrix are generated in the same manner, with each new level housing three times as many positions as the previous level.

Positions in the matrix are filled via direct and indirect recruitment of invested World Cryptocurrency Investment affiliates.

World Cryptocurrency Investment affiliates are paid $10 per affiliate recruited into their matrix.

How many matrix levels each affiliate can earn on is determined by how much they’ve invested:

  • Bronze affiliates earn on three matrix levels
  • Silver affiliates earn on six matrix levels
  • Gold affiliates earn on nine matrix levels
  • Platinum affiliates earn on fourteen matrix levels
  • VIP affiliates earn on eighteen matrix levels

Rank Achievement Bonus

World Cryptocurrency Investment offer a Rank Achievement Bonus, which is either a pool based bonus or additional percentage of invested funds.

I’m going off an official compensation plan in Vietnamese so I’m not 100% sure on which way the Rank Achievement Bonus is paid out

Joining World Cryptocurrency Investment

World Cryptocurrency Investment affiliate membership is available in five levels:

  • Bronze – $100 (no daily ROI)
  • Silver – $500
  • Gold – $1000
  • Platinum – $5000
  • VIP – $10,000

The primary difference between the above affiliate memberships is income potential via the World Cryptocurrency Investment compensation plan.

Note that all payments into and out of World Cryptocurrency Investment are made in bitcoin.

As far as I can tell, Edward Hartley’s stint at OneCoin was brief.

He was signed up by Igor Alberts in mid to late 2020 and by the end of the year had left.

Considering the marketing hype pushed out when Hartley announced he’d joined OneCoin, his quiet departure was pretty conspicuous.

What’s peculiar about Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment is that it isn’t so much “worldwide” as it is entirely being pitched to the Vietnamese.

As evidenced by translators present at Edward Hartley’s promotional events in Vietnam, Hartley himself doesn’t speak Vietnamese.

If I had to guess, Hartley’s partners in Worldwide Cryptocurrency Invest were responsible for OneCoin growth in Vietnam.

Hartley would have been given a plumb OneCoin position under Igor Alberts when he signed up.

With OneCoin starting to collapse and a bunch of leaders leaving in late 2020, Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment is an attempt to remilk Vietnamese investors who lost money in OneCoin.

The ruse behind Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment is cryptocurrency trading.

While the company does provide fixed daily ROI payments in dollars, no evidence or proof of cryptocurrency trading exists.

The only identifiable source of revenue entering Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment is affiliate investment, the use of which to pay a daily ROI makes it a Ponzi scheme.

Evidently the Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment apple hasn’t fallen far from the OneCoin tree.

As with all Ponzi schemes, once affiliate recruitment slows down so too will newly invested funds.

This will see Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment unable to meet its ROI obligations, prompting a collapse.

As with OneCoin, once that happens the majority of Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment affiliates will lose money.

Given that all investments into Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment are made in bitcoin, good luck recovering your funds once Hartley does a runner.

Update 21st July 2020 – According to a report from VN Express International, Edward Hartley passed away on Wednesday, 17th July.

An initial investigation found the man, identified as Edward Hartley, 53, was at the clinic on Su Van Hanh Street in District 10 to have some loose skin removed from around his hip.

During the procedure he went into a fit and died shortly after.

As noted in the review, Hartley had been heavily promoting Worldwide Cryptocurrency Invest in Vietnam prior to his death. What this will mean for Worldwide Cryptocurrency Invest going forward is unclear.

Update 19th November 2020 – Worldwide Cryptocurrency Investment has been renamed “Worldwide Cryptocurrency International, and is continuing on without Hartley.

As the above promotional image shows, the company is now being headlined by Daniel Grenon (Co-founder and Global Master Distributor) and Touhid Rahman (Top Leader):

Both Grenon and Rahman are former OneCoin scammers.
